Shaughn Phillips
Director of EvangelizationYoung Adult Ministry
A little about me. . .
Peace! My name is Shaughn Phillips and I am the Director of Evangelization and Young Adult Ministry for Pastoral Region 7.
As Dayton is growing again my role is to help our three parishes become more involved in downtown community as well as equipping our parishes to invite our new neighbors into the life of our ecclesial communities. I also minister alongside our parishioners in their 20s and 30s who are single, married, or have children.
I fell in love with Dayton while at the University Of Dayton (Go Flyers!) so I am happy to be ministering with the downtown parishes. After graduating UD I went to the University of Notre Dame through the Institute for Church Life’s two-year program Echo where I earned a M.A. in Theology while apprenticing as a lay ecclesial minister at a parish in Indianapolis.
I grew up as the fourth of seven children in an army family moving around the US. Outside of ministry I love being outdoors, particularly backpacking or rock climbing, reading, and having a pint over an existential or theological conversation!
