A little more about Fr. Tony -
Father Anthony “Tony” Fortman, C.PP.S., was born in January 1970 at St. Rita Hospital in Lima, Ohio. He grew up in Ottawa, Ohio, with his father, Tom, mother Karen (deceased September 2013), and brother Mike. Following his mother’s death, his father married his stepmother Theresa. Father Tony’s brother, Mike, is married to Darcy. Father Tony graduated from Ottawa-Glandorf High School and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bluffton College. After attending Catholic Theological Union in Chicago for Seminary, he became the Associate Pastor at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Cleveland for three years. Then Fr. Tony did some vocation work and served as Associate Pastor at the St. Henry Cluster in Mercer County for the next 5 years. He comes to the [St. Gaspar Family of Parishes] from a 13-year assignment as Pastor at St. John the Baptist in Glandorf, Ohio.

Parish pastor at St. Gaspar Family of Parishes, Dayton and Englewood, OH What is the most challenging aspect of your assignment? Being patient.What is the most rewarding aspect of your assignment? Having mass, hearing confessions, and anointing the sick.What did you do before joining the Missionaries? I worked in social work and in a factory.What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
